HOULLIER + EVANS ARE PERFECT PARTNERSHIP

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah ah dear hehehehehehehehehehe oops! Well, I was right for a bit, here were my reasons;

Dec '98
When I heard about Houllier joining Liverpool I was at first quite shocked but then pleased, the only reason I was shocked was because we had actually made a change and decided to do something about our average seasons. The reason I am pleased is because we needed a change, something to boost us or turn us around, like when Everton get a new manager every other week (still makes no difference, they always end up in a relegation battle-Ed), but Houllier sounded good to me, a French Championship winning manager, an International coach and a Liverpool supporter, a good CV by my standards. So, good luck to the new partnership and lets go and win this Premiership lark.
PS. It looks as if it's working!

After 4 games of the season I'm well happy.
A great start against Southampton with little Mike getting his first of many to come and Riedle using his brilliant heading skills to the max. 2-1

I went to the Arsenal game and I was a bit disappointed with that performance but then again we didn't lose and we were playing the champions, so there must be a plus there somewhere! 0-0

The Newcastle game, well, I bloody missed it! I was at Reading'98, sod it. Well I heard Michaels goals were excellent and I heard Bergers was good too!...SOD! 4-1

Coventry got their butts kicked by us and I was pleased with that especially after the FA Cup result last year, and it was that Swedish keeper, we should have put the Liverpool side out against him, not England! :) Good goals by Jamie "I'm now better than ever" Redknapp and Patrik "Sorry about Barnsley" Berger wrapped up an easy win. 2-0

I dont wanna talk about West Ham . Oh ok, erm, Riedle, head, goal. 1-2

I was pleased at the way we handled the Kosice game, very professional, Great goals from Berger and Riedle, but the highlight for all of us must have been seeing Robbie come back and with his first touch set up Owen for the third within about 9 seconds of him coming on. Good luck mate! And we didnt conceed an away goal! 3-0

Good battlers Charlton and did well against a poor Liverpool side, I was there, was a good game for goals and I thought we'd snatch it at the end. Bugger! Well done Robbie getting 2 goals on his Anfield comeback, looking positive. Berger got the other and what a goal that was! 3-3

Manchester U-F**king-nited I hate these bastards, wasnt a penalty which set them off to eventualy win, I missed this Thursday night("Huh?"-ed) Sky("ah"-ed) event due to my Radio show, thank god I did otherwise I'd be even more wound up then I am! 0-2

Second leg of the UEFA cup home to Kosice we did good, very good, goals came from Fowler, two of 'em, Redknapp also got 2, and one from Ince our captain. Great, just great. 5-0!

Another Sky event, Chelsea I was gonna go to this but I quit my job and didnt have the money, I also said to myself that if we dont beat Chelsea I'd never go to another home game again coz I was thinking I was a jinx coz we always beat Chelsea at home, well I didnt go and we still didnt win which means I just pick bad days to go see my beloved team. 1-1

"Blue and white shite!" we chant, yes, relegation certs Everton was our next game, my brother supports them so if either had won, one of us would have been hurt! But as it goes, a not too exciting draw was the outcome, hey, at least we didnt lose. 0-0

Valencia, I think if we played Owen we might have won, who knows, bad game on our behalf but at least we didnt conceed a home goal with David James being our saviour for once. All we have to do now is score at their place. Come on you Reds! 0-0

Oh yes, was this nice Nottingham Forset at home just when they're down, we stamp even more, did we stuff these guys or what?! Four goals from the boy Owen and McManamans first of the season. The lads done good! 5-1

The Worthington cup formally known as the Coca-Cola cup (TWCFKATCCC) Fulham were are opponents and after a dodgy start we managed to settle down and gain a bit of control, an own goal kicked us off, then a class equaliser from Peschisolido of Fulhum made us worry but when Michael was brought down in the box only for Fowler to convert from the spot, we had it nearly wrapped up. Then soon after Ince headed us to a neat victory and a bad visit to Anfield it was for Keegan and Beardsley but they recieved a warm welcome from our fans. 3-1

A disappointing Leicester game, they are always hard and we tried the tactic of using Riedle up front instead of Fowler for heading ability against a tall, strong Leicester defence but unfortunately it didnt work A bad game overall including McAteer sent off. 0-1

The Away leg against Valencia was always gonna be tough, if they score then they'll defend, they did but we managed to scrape one back in the 80th minute through a McManaman header and then we sealed it in the 86th with a powerful drive from Berger. With smiles on our faces after that we (the fans) we disappointed with the referees perfomance leading to a last minute sending off of McManaman for nothing and Ince for getting involved, as our Captain he should know better. Incey boy, calm down mate! Anyway, we're through to the next round! woohoo!! Thru on away goals 2-2

"As the rest of the Premiership sides are bombarding their clubs with foreign imports Liverpool would be desperate to look for a Foreign successor or at least a coach with a lot of European knowledge"-As written in December 1997, I thank you!
